For Shot these 2 weeks – 7 till 20 April 2014 we have a few views of the South of Malta taken from Valletta, a few colourfull street photography shots, Panini stickers being exchanged in Valletta and a fe more….

 

 

 

Shot these two weeks is a handful of photographs I shot during the past two weeks. A variety of images and snap shots including the occasional click made with my  iPad 2, mobile phone and pocket camera.

This will be updated every second Sunday at 20:00hrs.

Opening Night of Private Art, Photography Exhibition

A set of photographs from last weekends’ Private Art Forum and exhibition opening.

As part of the Private Art Photography Exhibition, the Malta Institute of Professional Photography invited representatives from Data Protection office, journalists, a lawyer and well known professional photographer Kevin  Casha. During this forum these representatives gave an insight into what is concidered private while persons attending had the opportunity to ask questions. Statue of Grand Master Jean de Vallette – Opening ceremony and day after

Statue of Grand Master Jean de ValletteOpening ceremony and day after.

Just a few meters away from the foundation stone, a new statue of  Valletta’s founder  Grand Master Jean de Vallette is being placed in a newly built  square  next to St. Catherine Church. This area was previously the police station, demolished as part of the Renzo Piano Regeneration of Valletta project. Built by sculptor Joseph Chetcuti this bronze statue is 2.5 meters long and weighs over 700 kilos. The Grand Master is wearing his armour, a sword and Valletta’s building plans in his right hand.

The official opening is scheduled for tomorrow 21st November 2012.

Photographs of the construction works on the  Old Theatre and in Freedom Square. Previously a car park, Malta’s new parliament is being constructed as part of the Renzo Piano Project for the entrance to Valletta.

Architect Renzo Piano unveiled the  designs for the entrance to Valletta on Saturday 27th June 2009. This extensive project is expected to be completed by 2014. Piano’s plan include the new parliament that will be built  in Freedom Square, restoring City gate to its original design of 1633, re building the Old theatre for out door performances, re furbish Valletta bus terminus, a new lift from City Gate down to Valletta ditch that will be turned into public gardens and other over all restorations.
