Shot these 2 weeks – 5 till 18 September 2016

Shot these 2 weeks – 5 till 18 September 2016 has only one photo. But i choose one that is a recurring theme with this public game in Valletta. I am sure that the penis is the most popular human body part. The truck with a Twistees advert adds a Maltese touch to it.

Shot these 2 weeks – 11 till 24 Jan 2016

Shot these 2 weeks – 11 till 24 Jan 2016 comes all from Valletta. Is Suq tal Belt is now closed off and in the process of being dismantled. Although not working for many years, all the Maltese know about this escalator. The other photos are from around the capital city, Valletta.

Permanent premises for Maltese photographers

Dear friends,

Recently my mentor Kevin Casha wrote  a passionate letter that was published on the Times of Malta. He talks about the need for a permanent premises for Maltese photographers to be able to meet, learn and exhibt their work.

I would appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to read this article and forward it to you friends and family.

Thank you, Alan

Letter can be found on the Times of Malta.

Please also have a look at Kevin Casha work.

Concours d’Elegance, Valletta Grand Prix 2012

The  Concours d’Elegance is held a day before the racing starts and is a very popular  event during the Valletta Grand Prix. The classic cars are parked side by side in front of St.Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina. Here you get the chance to admire the craftsmanship and details on  these cars. You get a chance to peep inside to inspect the leather seats, wooden dashboards and chrome knobs.

Quite a few owners dressed in period costumes, adding a touch of class to the event. In my case I shot the cars with an old film camera. One roll of 10 shots.

Hope you enjoy them!

Crashed Classic Car, Valletta Grand Prix 2012

Two photos showing a crashed classic car!

Saturday. Racing day. Time to hear the lovely  sounds of powerful classic petrol engines and tyres going round bends and gearing up for the straights. From Mdina down to Stazjon restaurant, over the bridge, fast straight on the last half of the Mtarfa by pass, slow down for a tight turn on the right, s bend, another tight right then fast up the hill with Mdina shining on the left. A 2.2 kilometre road race. All I had on my mind was the taught of buying my own car to race this track. There was also one motor bike, a classic Yamaha owned and tuned by well known Cycle World of Benny Mamo.

Here are all my photos from the day. There are quite a few to see but I had to shoot each car at least once, when do we ever get to see them at this speed?
